Emirates has introduced a brand-new livery on one of its A380 aircraft, aimed at raising awareness for the Emirates Airline Foundation’s humanitarian initiatives, which have positively impacted the lives of thousands of children worldwide.
The livery’s design draws inspiration from the Emirates Airline Foundation’s logo, featuring elements of children’s artwork. In a shift from the usual white, the aircraft’s engine cowls are adorned in a warm orange hue which has been added to symbolise a brighter future for disadvantaged children supported by the foundation.
“This new A380 livery serves as a flying ambassador for the Foundation’s work, spreading the message of hope and support for children in need across the globe,” said a spokesperson for the airline. “The newly branded A380 is set to make its debut flight to Johannesburg, South Africa, where the Emirates Airline Foundation backs two significant projects.”
Operating under the patronage of Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline & Group, the Emirates Airline Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid and essential services to children. Over the past two decades, the Foundation has supported more than 50 projects worldwide, partnering with various NGOs and community-based organizations. These efforts focus on critical needs such as safe housing, food and medical care.
Currently, the foundation supports 14 NGOs across nine countries. Among these are Emirates-CHES Home in India, which cares for 100 abandoned HIV-positive children and in Africa, the foundation funds several initiatives, including schools in Kenya, South Africa and Zimbabwe, all of which provide holistic education and medical care to underprivileged children.
In the last financial year alone, the Emirates Airline Foundation provided over 500 flight tickets to volunteers conducting medical, engineering, and educational missions worldwide, benefiting numerous communities and improving the lives of countless children.
