Delta Air Lines has launched its new lounge at the JFK International Airport: The Delta One Lounge.

Larger than any Delta Sky Club at over a staggering 39,000 square feet, the lounge offers a variety of experiences and amenities for the premium traveller, from fine dining to spa-like wellness treatments to valet services and more. Delta can create bespoke lounge experiences for its Delta One customers, tailoring it to the demands of the trip ahead.

“Our teams have spared no detail to ensure Delta One Lounge guests receive a truly memorable experience,” said Delta Sky Clubs and lounge experience Claude Roussel. “It’s a new era for Delta – this lounge is raising the bar across the board, from the amenities to the food and beverage offerings to the level of personalised service. We want our guests to feel the difference here; moreover, we want them to feel welcomed and valued from the moment they step through the door.”

The lounge is located between Concourses A and B in Terminal 4, adjacent to the main security checkpoint at the airport. It features nods to the famous Big Apple with “thoughtfully curated surprises for New Yorkers and design enthusiasts alike”, Delta said.

The premium bar features an eye-catching Art Deco-inspired lighting fixture in a horseshoe shape on the ceiling above the bar lounge with fluted glass. Its design is reminiscent of the gold leaf ceiling and chandeliers of the Radio City Music Hall.

Take a glimpse into the city’s past at the white-marble counter Market and Bakery, inspired by retro delicatessen food counters.

Fan-shaped marble mosaic tiles in the market dining area pay tribute to famed New York brasseries. The penny-round ceiling over the food counter is a hat-tip to the original JFK terminal, designed by famed architect Eero Saarinen.

The iconic overlapping strands of the Brooklyn Bridge provided inspiration for the suspended lighting fixture in the dining room.

Delta’s recently announced partnership with Italian luxury brand Missoni to provide amenity kits to Delta One customers. “The Missoni amenity kits have been meticulously designed, embodying a timeless declaration of elegance and a profound connection with the surrounding world,” said Missoni creative director Alberto Caliri.

This partnership is also reflected in the lounge, with design touches like accent pillows, vases and coffee table books bearing the signature zigzag design of the Italian fashion house.

The lounge features a designated wellness spa equipped with nine reservable relaxation pods with full-body massage chairs and nap chairs. Adjacent to the wellness area, is the serenity lounge and with special lamp lighting in tune to the body’s circadian rhythms, helping the body to acclimatise to its destined time zone. The lounge also has a rejuvenation bar, offering fruit and herb-infused beverages.

The Delta One Lounge offers its customers the opportunity to freshen up at one of the eight well-appointed shower suites, featuring towels, bathrobes and slippers, Grown Alchemist products, and more. Passengers can also leave their clothing items inside the suite closet where a valet attendant will steam and/or shine them while showering.

Before taking off in the comfort of the luxurious Delta One cabins, passengers can enjoy the views of JFK’s airfield from the lounge’s terrace. The terrace features natural lighting and a retractable roof along with plants that are kept in season throughout the year.

The lounge cements Delta’s commitment to providing its Delta One customers with an end-to-end premium experience.
