Finnair has revealed its new Schengen Lounge will be released this July in the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, to bring “unparalleled” ease and comfort to customers.
Planned to open to customers on 9 July 2024, situated near Gate 21, the lounge has been constructed based on feedback from customer surveys, and inspiration from Finnair’s simplistic Nordic aesthetic.
“It follows the same palette and design introduced to the airline’s non-Schengen lounges, first unveiled at Helsinki Airport in 2019,” said Meri Järvinen, head of airport customer experience at Finnair. “The new Finnair Lounge offers a safe haven from all the airport noise and hassle, letting you both engage in work and unwind.”
The new lounge accommodates up to 440 guests. The lounge caters to those guests’ various needs, such as dining, resting, and working. Finnair said, “With plenty of private, soundproof workspaces designed to meet the needs of a busy commuter, the lounge offers tailored tranquillity.”
Free access to the lounge can be enjoyed by Finnair Plus Gold members, Flex ticket holders and business class classic ticket holders. Access to the lounge can also be gained by all customers “via manage booking or through the Finnair app.”
In addition to the Schengen lounge, these customers will also still have access to the oneworld Alliance lounges at airports across the world.
Finnair chief commercial officer Ole Orvér commented: “We are delighted to announce the opening of our new Schengen lounge, providing even more space and comfort before take-off.”
