KleinVision, the Slovakia-based developer of the world’s first certified flying car, has signed a manufacturing agreement with a Chinese company to build its AirCar.
The exclusive agreement with Hebei Jianxin Flying Car Technology Co will allow the manufacturer a ‘geographically limited license’ to produce the AirCar for use within a specific region and is described by KleinVision as ‘a strategic move in the advancement of innovative mobility solutions’.
“This partnership represents a significant step in our mission to expand global access to revolutionary mobility solutions and drive progress in the industry,” commented Anton Zajac, co-founder at KleinVision.
The AirCar prototype completed its maiden flight in October 2020 before a subsequent 35 minute inter-city flight in June 2021. The design received Slovakian aircraft type certification in January 2022. Power comes courtesy of a 1.6 litre BMW engine, running on automotive fuel, with extendable wings and a tail boom deployed during flight.
