Qatar Airways Group CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer – the group’s newest CEO that was appointed in November 2023 – has revealed the ushering in of a “new era” for the company as he reveals several major new developments, including the introduction of a redesign of its Qsuite with new first class cabins on some of its fleets.

“Based on the demand from certain sectors, we see a high demand for first class, and as such, have decided to introduce a newly-designed first class cabin unique to Qatar Airways,” said Al-Meer. “No one can develop a first class cabin better than us – we are combining the experience of flying commercial and executive jets to develop something new. We are 70-80% ready and are only finalising colours.”

On top of the newly announced first class cabin, Al-Meer also underlined its digital innovations to drive organisational efficiencies, as it continues to build its route network. The group is looking to the growth markets of China and India to further develop its network. On top of this, Al-Meer is seeking to build a culture within Qatar that values trust and empowerment; achieved through various workplace satisfaction initiatives.

The new first class cabin will officially be revealed at this year’s Farnborough International Airshow in July 2024.
