Turkish Airlines has become a principal partner with the Melbourne Victory Football Club for the next three years. The partnership will commence for the 2024/25 season.
The airline will not only extend its “vast portfolio of sports engagements” including partnerships with UEFA Champions League and Turkiye National Football Team, but also hopes the partnership will bridge the gap between cultures and borders “through the universal passion for athletic achievement.”
“We are glad to embark on this journey with Melbourne Victory—it’s a truly fitting partnership right now as we celebrate our inaugural entry into the vibrant city of Melbourne,” said Turkish Airlines chairman of the board and executive committee Ahmet Bolat. The airline had launched its first inaugural flight into Melbourne in March 2024, serviced by its 787-9 for summer and A350-900 for winter. “Leveraging our shared values of excellence and passion for success to create memorable experiences for football fans and travellers alike is traditional for our airline at this point as we support numerous clubs in many athletic branches.”
Melbourne Victory managing director Caroline Carnegie added: “As a global powerhouse of the aviation business and one that wins countless awards for their service, customer satisfaction and sustainability, we are proud to be able to partner with them for the next three years and help them launch their brand into the Australian market.”
The airline hopes to add New South Wales capital city Sydney to its network by the end of 2024.
