Irish actor Cillian Murphy has won the Best Actor award for his star role in the critically acclaimed biopic ‘Oppenheimer’. Aer Lingus were more than happy to carry the star from Dublin to Los Angeles on the EI 069 flight ahead of the big Hollywood event. The flight also carried crew and production, including celebrated cinematographer Robbie Ryan, from the lauded ‘Poor Things’ starring Emma Stone who won the Best Actress award.

Perhaps the Aer Lingus flight’s tail featured a fourth and fortunate leaf on its shamrock with ‘Oppenheimer’ sweeping the awards, winning the Best Picture award and taking home a total of seven Oscars out of its 13 nominations. ‘Poor Things’ also took home a total of four awards from its 11 nominations.

“Aer Lingus is honoured to play a part in this cinematic journey and extend our hospitality and support to our own Irish talent as they and their families come together to celebrate this significant occasion for the Irish film industry,” said Aer Lingus chief customer officer Susanne Carberry.

The Academy Awards ceremony took place on March 10, welcoming cinematic talent from across the globe for the awards season.
