The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)  is banning the flying of drones around State Farm Stadium in Arizona during the 2023 Superbowl.

The showpiece of the American Football season takes place at stadium on February 12, with the “no drone zone” restrictions to kick in at 11am local time, within two-nautical-miles around the stadium and up to 2,000 feet in altitude, before being widened at 3.30pm until 9pm to a 30-nautical-mile radius and up to 18,000 feet in altitude.

There are also to be no-drone restrictions for downtown Phoenix, the FAA said, applicable to the area between McDowell Road, W. Lincoln Street, North Ninth Street and North Ninth Avenue. The curbs will be up to an altitude of 1,000 feet  and will run from February 9 – 12 between 6am and midnight each day.
