Manchester Airport is to stage a jobs fair on February 7 at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.

Over 1,500 jobs are on offer, including at ground handling agent Swissport, which recently took on around 100 new staff at the airport ahead of the summer holiday season.

Among the 25 employers who will join the fair include retailers Boots, JD Sport and World Duty Free, airline Jet.2.com, aviation businesses Menzies, Excess Baggage and Seetec Plus, as well as MACE, the construction company leading the airport’s transformation programme.

“Having welcomed more than 2,000 new colleagues in 2022, including over 1,100 in security, we are now looking ahead to a busy summer in 2023, and are delighted to be able to recruit for a variety of roles,” said Chris Woodroofe, the airport’s managing director.

Karen Cox, managing director for Swissport Ground Handling, UK & Ireland, said the company was “delighted to be part of the jobs fair and are excited to share our insight into the roles we have on offer”.
