Wizz Air is giving arty types “from across the world” until February 12 to send in designs for a “sustainability livery” for one of its Airbus A321neos.

The winner will get €2000 worth of Wizz vouchers, a prize that could literally go a long way given the Hungarian low-cost carrier recently announced dozens of new routes. The chosen design “stands the chance to be used partially or fully in the creation of the final sustainability livery”, Wizz added.

“With one of the youngest fleets in the world and the lowest carbon intensity in Europe, Wizz Air strives to be the greenest choice of air travel. To raise awareness of its sustainability efforts and mark its commitment to further reducing its CO2 emissions intensity by 25% by 2030, Wizz Air invites creative individuals to design the new livery for one of its Airbus A321neo,” the announcement continued.

Wizz Air said Airbus A321neos offer a roughly 50% reduction in “noise footprint” — in other words, they are half as loud as older jets.

Less noise comes with less fuel and lower emissions, Wizz added, in a not-so-subtle hint to “creative individuals” about what their designs should depict.
