Having obliterated their previous record for zero gravity flights in a single year, Zero-G, which offers individuals the opportunity to experience true “weightlessness” without going to space onboard a modified 727-200, has doubled the amount of public zero gravity flights on offer in 2023.
“We’re talking about a triple-digit record here,” said Matt Gohd, Zero-G CEO. “The fact that we’ve conducted more flights in 9 months than any other time in the company’s 18-year history is something we’re exceptionally proud of. It’s really a tribute to our team and everything they do to create the ultimate experience for every single guest.”
These flights are available to any member of the general public and include cities like: New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Oakland, Seattle, and Miami. The full zero gravity flight schedule can be found on the company’s website.
“Only a fraction of humanity has ever experienced zero gravity,” Matt commented. “It’s time to change that. And as the only FAA-approved provider of zero gravity flights in the entire country, we’re in a unique position to make that happen–one flight at a time.”
On board Zero-G’s G-FORCE ONE, a modified Boeing 727-200 aircraft, the open interior space allows for maximum floating space, with the seats located at the rear of the plane. The floating area is divided into sections and padded from floor to ceiling with one rope running down each side of the plane.
The upgrade to G-FORCE ONE’s hydraulic system allows for continuous hydraulic pressure during parabolic performance. The modification, along with the addition of accelerometers in the cockpit, were tested and approved by the FAA. No structural modifications were made to the aircraft’s interior or exterior.
